Limeade is an indica THCA flower that tested at 31.76% THCA and 0.168% delta-9 THC, with a limonene-led terpene panel on its certificate. Expect bright lime citrus over soft, doughy sweetness and a smooth vanilla finish, and a relaxed, easygoing body feel that never turns heavy.

This guide covers what the Cannabis ChemLab certificate reports, what we do and do not know about Limeade’s genetics, how the measured terpenes line up with the flavor, what customers commonly report, and how Limeade compares with the other citrus-forward strains we carry. If it is between batches when you read this, the comparison section points you at the closest alternative in stock.

Lineage and genetics

The grower does not publish parentage for Limeade, so this guide does not either. The name describes the flavor, and the product copy spells it out: “bright lime citrus layered over soft, doughy sweetness and a smooth vanilla finish.” Strain names travel between growers and crosses, so we describe the flower in front of us rather than borrow a pedigree.

The certificate tells the more useful story. On the cannabinoid side THCA does nearly all the work at 31.76%, with delta-9 THC at 0.168%, under the 0.3% hemp threshold. On the terpene side Limeade is unusual for an indica: limonene leads the panel by a wide margin at 0.51%, with myrcene, the earthy terpene that dominates most indicas, at the bottom of the list at 0.05%. That is a sativa-style panel on an indica-labelled flower, and it explains why Limeade behaves differently from the heavy, sleepy end of our shelf. Read the genetics as “citrus indica” and expect the lighter side of the category.

Limeade is the brightest-smelling flower on our indica shelf. The nose is fresh lime, sharp and zesty, like the peel rather than the juice, and it fills the jar the moment it opens. Behind the citrus there is a soft, doughy sweetness, closer to a sugar cookie than to fruit candy, and on the exhale a smooth vanilla note that rounds the whole thing off. It is a clean, dessert-adjacent profile with none of the fuel or skunk you get from OG-style flower.

The measured panel matches that almost line for line. Limonene at 0.51% is the citrus, and at roughly ten times the myrcene reading it is firmly in charge. α-Humulene at 0.19% adds a dry, woody-herbal edge that keeps the sweetness from going flat. The two pinenes, at 0.08% and 0.07%, bring a faint fresh-pine lift, and linalool at 0.07% is the soft floral-vanilla note on the finish. β-Myrcene at 0.05% is barely a supporting player. The product record’s copy of the panel also lists small amounts of ocimene, endo-fenchyl alcohol and menthol, which may account for the cool, clean quality on the exhale. Our terpene guide explains what each compound contributes.

Grinding Limeade releases a burst of lime that is noticeably stronger than the jar smell. The dense, aromatic buds burn evenly and the citrus holds through to the end.

What to expect from Limeade and when to use it

At 31.76% THCA, Limeade is a potent flower, and THCA converts to THC when heated, so do not let the easygoing profile fool you about strength. What customers commonly report is a bright, uplifted start, lighter and more cheerful than most indicas, that settles over twenty or thirty minutes into a warm, relaxed body feel. The finish is the distinguishing part: the copy describes it as “relaxed, easygoing without a heavy finish,” and that is consistent with what we hear. It calms without pinning you to the couch, which is why we tag it unwind, balance and sleep.

The best time of day is the late afternoon into the evening. Limeade suits the hours when you want to switch off work without switching off entirely: cooking, a walk, an unhurried evening with people. Many customers also use it as a lighter wind-down flower when a heavy indica would be too much. Start with a smaller amount than you would use of a milder flower, give it time, and expect experiences to vary with tolerance and the person. Dry mouth is the most commonly reported side note; keep water nearby and do not drive. If you are still choosing a direction, our guide to choosing between sativa, indica and hybrid is a good place to start.

How Limeade compares with other Ember Trees strains

Limeade sits at the bright, light end of our indicas. Here is how it lines up against the three strains customers most often cross-shop with it.

Limeade vs. PB&J

PB&J is a 33.03% THCA indica with nutty, dessert-like sweetness, a bright citrus lift and soft floral undertones. Its panel is myrcene-led where Limeade’s is limonene-led, so PB&J settles deeper into the body and runs warmer and sleepier, while Limeade stays lighter and brighter. Pick PB&J for a cosy night in and Limeade for an evening you still want to be up for. The PB&J strain guide has the full breakdown.

Limeade vs. Too Cool

Too Cool is a 31.06% THCA indica with citrus brightness, earthy sweetness and a subtle pine edge; its panel has limonene and myrcene nearly level, so it is more grounded and savoury than Limeade. The copy calls it built for “slowing down without checking out,” which makes it the closest match in spirit, with more earth and less dessert. See the Too Cool strain guide.

Limeade vs. Terp Heads

Terp Heads is a balanced hybrid at 29.64% THCA with bright citrus, sweet earthiness and a cool minty edge, and a limonene-led panel of its own. It is the pick if the citrus is what draws you to Limeade but you want the mind more engaged rather than relaxed. The Terp Heads strain guide covers it in detail.

The current lineup is always on the THCA flower menu, and this guide stays up so you can compare Limeade with what is in stock. Each batch gets its own certificate, so the numbers above describe the batch tested on the date shown.

Limeade FAQ

Is Limeade an indica or a sativa?

Limeade is an indica, but a light one. Its certificate shows a limonene-led terpene panel with very little myrcene, and customers commonly report a bright start that settles into a relaxed, easygoing body feel without a heavy finish.

How strong is Limeade THCA flower?

The current batch tested at 31.76% THCA and 0.168% delta-9 THC at Cannabis ChemLab, so it is a potent flower that is still hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill.

What does Limeade taste like?

Fresh lime peel up front, soft doughy sweetness behind it and a smooth vanilla finish on the exhale. The measured panel is led by limonene at 0.51%, which is where the citrus comes from.

Does the Limeade COA include a terpene panel?

Yes. The Cannabis ChemLab certificate for batch ET-FLW-LIM-20260809-01 reports six terpenes, led by limonene at 0.51% and α-humulene at 0.19%. You can read it at /coas/ET-FLW-LIM-20260809-01.

When is the best time to use Limeade?

Late afternoon into the evening. It is the indica customers reach for when they want to unwind but stay up and about, and it doubles as a lighter wind-down flower when a heavy indica would be too much.

Can Limeade be shipped to my state?

Limeade is hemp-derived THCA flower with delta-9 THC under 0.3% by dry weight, and Ember Trees ships it to 45 states by UPS. We cannot ship to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and orders are 21+ with a valid ID.

Ember Trees sells hemp-derived THCA flower under the 2018 Farm Bill, with delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% on a dry-weight basis as confirmed by third-party testing of each batch; THCA converts to THC when heated. The effects described in this guide are commonly reported by adult consumers, vary from person to person and are not medical claims. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. For adults 21 and over.
