SFV is a sativa-leaning hybrid THCA flower that tested at 30.50% THCA and 0.052% delta-9 THC, with a terpene panel led by myrcene, nerolidol and linalool. Expect fresh pine and lemon zest over earthy wood, and an engaged, upbeat headspace with a relaxed body that suits afternoons and early evenings.

This guide walks through the FESA Labs certificate, what the San Fernando Valley OG name does and does not tell you, how the measured terpenes translate into flavor, what customers commonly report, and how SFV compares with Toad Venom, SkyWalker and Super Boof. If SFV is between drops when you read this, the comparison section points to the closest flower in stock.

Lineage and genetics
The grower does not publish parents for SFV, so we list no lineage for it. What the product copy does say is that it carries the classic San Fernando Valley OG signature, and that is a description of style rather than a pedigree. SFV OG is a long-standing member of the OG Kush family named for the valley north of Los Angeles, and flower sold under the name is expected to smell of pine, lemon and earth with a faint gassy edge. The lab logged this batch’s sample as “SFV OG,” which matches the copy.
We only publish what arrived with the flower and what the certificate shows, so take the OG family name as context: it tells you the aromatic neighbourhood the flower lives in, not which plants were crossed to make this batch. Different growers’ SFV cuts can drift noticeably, and the terpene panel below is the better guide to what this one actually smells and tastes like.
Terpene and flavor profile
| Terpene | % |
|---|---|
| β-Myrcene | 0.96% |
| Nerolidol | 0.67% |
| Linalool | 0.47% |
| δ-Limonene | 0.45% |
| α-Humulene | 0.43% |
| 3-Carene | 0.10% |
| Fenchol | 0.08% |
| Listed terpenes | 3.16% |
SFV’s certificate includes a full terpene panel, and the total of 3.19% by weight is among the highest on our flower menu. β-Myrcene leads at 0.96%, the earthy, slightly musky compound that gives the flower its woody base and most of its body-side character. Nerolidol at 0.67% is unusual as a number-two terpene; it reads as soft wood with a faint floral, apple-skin sweetness and smooths the edges of the OG profile. Linalool (0.47%) adds a cool floral note, δ-limonene (0.45%) is the lemon zest, and α-humulene (0.43%) brings a dry, hoppy earthiness.
Two readings explain why SFV tastes the way it does. The pine does not come from pinene, which was not detected; it comes from 3-carene (0.10%) and fenchol (0.08%), both sharp, resinous, cedar-and-camphor notes. And β-caryophyllene, the peppery, diesel-adjacent terpene that dominates most OG cuts, was also not detected, which is why SFV reads as fresh pine and lemon rather than fuel. The result is a clean, bright, woody smoke that stays smooth through a joint. Our terpene guide covers what each compound contributes, and how to read a hemp COA explains the rest of the certificate.
What to expect from SFV and when to use it
SFV is tagged focus, balance and unwind, and the terpene panel supports that spread. Customers commonly describe an engaged, upbeat headspace in the first stretch, the kind that pairs with a task you want to stay with, followed by a relaxed body that keeps it from feeling racy. The myrcene-heavy panel is the reason the body side is real: this is not a jittery sativa, and the copy’s phrase “grounded finish” is a fair summary of what people report.
The best window, based on customer feedback, runs from early afternoon into the evening. It is a reasonable daytime flower for people who want to stay productive, and it eases down gently enough for a quiet night, though it stays more alert than our heavier indicas and is not the one to reach for right before bed. At 30.50% THCA it is strong, so start with a small amount and give it time before adding more; experiences vary with the person and their tolerance. Dry mouth and red eyes are the most commonly reported side notes. If you are choosing between SFV and a brighter daytime strain, our guide to the best THCA flower for energy and focus explains what to look for on a panel.
How SFV compares with other Ember Trees strains
SFV sits in the middle of our hybrid range: brighter than the indica-leaning OGs, calmer than the limonene-led sativas. Here is how it lines up against the three strains it is most often cross-shopped with.
SFV vs. Toad Venom
Toad Venom is our strongest hybrid at 34.26% THCA, with a gas, citrus and mint profile and no terpene panel on its certificate. Toad Venom is louder and more fuel-forward; SFV is cleaner, more pine-and-lemon, and a little more task-friendly. Pick Toad Venom for a social evening and SFV for an afternoon you want to stay on top of. The Toad Venom strain guide has the details.
SFV vs. SkyWalker
SkyWalker is the indica-leaning side of the same OG family at 30.19% THCA, with earthy pine, herbal spice and diesel. The two share the pine, but SkyWalker is heavier and sleepier where SFV stays engaged. If your evening ends on the couch, SkyWalker; if it ends with something you still want to finish, SFV. See the SkyWalker strain guide.
SFV vs. Super Boof
Super Boof is our other sativa-leaning hybrid at 28.84% THCA, with sweet cherry, bright citrus and mellow earth on a limonene-led panel. It is fruitier and lighter than SFV and has none of the woody OG base. Super Boof is the easygoing, sweet-tooth pick; SFV is the pine-and-lemon one with more body. The Super Boof strain guide covers it.

Availability
Small-batch flower rotates: SFV can sell through and may return when a new batch passes testing, so its product page may show it as sold out between drops. The current lineup is always on the THCA flower menu, and this guide stays up so you can compare SFV with what is in stock. Each batch gets its own certificate, so the numbers above describe the batch tested on the date shown.
SFV FAQ
Is SFV an indica or a sativa?
SFV is a sativa-leaning hybrid. Customers commonly report an engaged, upbeat headspace with a relaxed body, and the myrcene-led terpene panel is why the body side shows up even though the strain leans sativa.
How strong is SFV THCA flower?
The current batch tested at 30.50% THCA with 0.052% delta-9 THC and a calculated total THC of 26.80% at FESA Labs. THCA converts to THC when heated, so it is a strong flower; start with a small amount.
What does SFV taste like?
Fresh pine and lemon zest over a woody, earthy base, with a smooth finish and only a faint gassy edge. The pine comes from 3-carene and fenchol rather than pinene, and caryophyllene was not detected, which keeps the fuel note light.
Does the SFV COA include a terpene panel?
Yes. The FESA Labs certificate for batch ET-FLW-SFV-20261021-01 reports 3.19% total terpenes, led by β-myrcene, nerolidol and linalool. You can read it at /coas/ET-FLW-SFV-20261021-01.
When is the best time to use SFV?
Early afternoon through the evening. It is alert enough for a task and relaxed enough to wind down on, but it is not as sleepy as our heavy indicas, so most customers do not use it right before bed.
Can SFV be shipped to my state?
SFV is hemp-derived THCA flower with 0.052% delta-9 THC, under the 0.3% federal limit, and Ember Trees ships it to 45 states by UPS. We cannot ship to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and orders are 21+ with ID verification.
Ember Trees sells hemp-derived THCA flower under the 2018 Farm Bill, with delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% on a dry-weight basis as confirmed by third-party testing of each batch; THCA converts to THC when heated. The effects described in this guide are commonly reported by adult consumers, vary from person to person and are not medical claims. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. For adults 21 and over. Keep out of reach of children, and do not drive after use.
