This guide covers the Cannabis Chem Lab certificate, what we do and do not know about the genetics, how the measured terpenes line up with the flavor, what customers commonly report from a balanced hybrid at this potency, and how Terp Heads compares with Toad Venom, Galaxy Runtz and Limeade. If it is between drops when you read this, the comparison section points you to the nearest match in stock.

Lineage and genetics
The grower publishes no parents for Terp Heads, so we list no lineage. The name itself is the only clue the copy offers, and it is a nod to the aromatic side of the flower rather than a family tree: “terp heads” is slang for people who choose flower by smell and flavor first and potency second. That is a fair description of who this strain is for.
What we can say with confidence is what the certificate shows. Terp Heads carries a measured panel led by limonene, with myrcene second and a spread of pinenes, linalool and ocimene underneath, which is the fingerprint of a citrus-forward hybrid rather than a gassy OG or a dessert cut. We only publish lineage when it arrives with the flower, so if the grower names the cross on a future batch we will add it here. Until then, the panel below is the honest answer to “what is Terp Heads like,” and it is a more reliable guide than any parent name would be.
Terpene and flavor profile
| Terpene | % |
|---|---|
| Limonene | 0.61% |
| β-Myrcene | 0.23% |
| trans-Caryophyllene | 0.10% |
| β-Pinene | 0.08% |
| α-Pinene | 0.08% |
| Linalool | 0.07% |
| Ocimene | 0.06% |
| α-Bisabolol | 0.04% |
| Nerolidol | 0.03% |
| Listed terpenes | 1.30% |
Terp Heads opens on citrus, and the certificate explains why: limonene leads at 0.61%, more than double any other reading on the panel. It is the peel-and-zest brightness you smell the moment the jar opens. β-Myrcene at 0.23% sits underneath as the sweet, earthy middle, and trans-caryophyllene at 0.10% adds just enough pepper to keep the sweetness from turning cloying. The two pinenes (0.08% each) and ocimene (0.06%) lend a green, slightly sharp edge, while linalool (0.07%), α-bisabolol (0.04%) and nerolidol (0.03%) round the finish with faint floral softness.
The cool, minty edge the product copy describes is the part a panel does not fully capture. The supplied panel on the product record adds a small menthol reading alongside the lab’s list, which fits what you taste: the citrus hands off to a clean, cooling finish on the exhale rather than a sweet one. It is subtle, closer to the chill of a mint leaf than to toothpaste, and it is the detail that makes Terp Heads taste different from our other limonene-led flowers. Grinding brings the mint forward; breaking buds by hand keeps the citrus in front. For a primer on what each of these compounds does, see our guide to what terpenes are and why they matter.
What to expect from Terp Heads and when to use it
Terp Heads is tagged balance, social and creative, and “balanced hybrid” is the right frame for what customers commonly report: a clear, lifted start that stays conversational, settling into a relaxed body that does not pull you toward sleep. The limonene lead keeps the headspace bright; the myrcene underneath keeps it from feeling racy. People tend to describe it as an easy flower to be around other people on, which is why it is a frequent pick for a weekend afternoon or a low-key evening in company.
The best time of day, from what customers tell us, is the late afternoon through mid-evening. It is a little too engaged for a bedtime flower and a little too relaxed for first thing in the morning; it sits comfortably in between. At 29.64% THCA it is still a strong flower, so start with a small amount and wait before adding more, especially if you are coming from lower-potency flower. Experiences vary from person to person and with tolerance. Dry mouth and red eyes are the most commonly reported side notes. If you are still working out which direction suits you, our overview of choosing between sativa, indica and hybrid is a good starting point.
How Terp Heads compares with other Ember Trees strains
Terp Heads is the citrus-and-mint hybrid on our menu. Here is how it compares with the three strains customers most often weigh it against.
Terp Heads vs. Toad Venom
Toad Venom is the other mint-finishing hybrid we carry, at 34.26% THCA with a gas-first, citrus and mint profile and no terpene panel on its certificate. Toad Venom is louder, gassier and noticeably stronger on paper; Terp Heads is sweeter, lighter on the fuel and comes with a measured panel. If you want the mint without the diesel, Terp Heads; if you want the gas too, see the Toad Venom strain guide.
Terp Heads vs. Galaxy Runtz
Galaxy Runtz is a Runtz-lineage hybrid at 29.14% THCA with a candy-sweet, fruity character, and the two land within half a point of each other on potency. Galaxy Runtz is the dessert pick, all sweetness and fruit; Terp Heads is brighter, more citrus and finishes cool instead of sweet. The Galaxy Runtz strain guide has the details.
Terp Heads vs. Limeade
Limeade is an indica at 31.76% THCA with lime citrus over doughy sweetness and a vanilla finish, on a panel led by limonene at 0.51%. The two share the citrus lead, but Limeade settles into a warmer, heavier body and suits later in the evening, while Terp Heads stays more engaged and minty. See the Limeade strain guide.

Each batch gets its own certificate, so the numbers above describe the batch tested on the date shown.
Terp Heads FAQ
Is Terp Heads an indica or a sativa?
Terp Heads is a balanced hybrid. Customers commonly report a bright, social start with a relaxed body that does not become sleepy, and the limonene-over-myrcene panel matches that middle-of-the-road character.
How strong is Terp Heads THCA flower?
The current batch tested at 29.64% THCA with 0.190% delta-9 THC at Cannabis Chem Lab. THCA converts to THC when heated, so it is a strong flower; start with a small amount.
What does Terp Heads taste like?
Bright citrus first, a sweet and earthy middle, and a cool, minty edge on the exhale. Limonene leads the measured panel at 0.61%, with myrcene second.
Does the Terp Heads COA include a terpene panel?
Yes. The Cannabis Chem Lab certificate for batch ET-FLW-TER-20260831-01 lists nine terpenes led by limonene, β-myrcene and trans-caryophyllene. Read it at /coas/ET-FLW-TER-20260831-01.
When is the best time to use Terp Heads?
Late afternoon through mid-evening, especially in company. It is more engaged than our heavy indicas and more relaxed than our limonene-led sativas, so it is not a morning or a bedtime flower for most people.
Can Terp Heads be shipped to my state?
Terp Heads is hemp-derived THCA flower with 0.190% delta-9 THC, under the 0.3% federal limit, and Ember Trees ships it to 45 states by UPS. We cannot ship to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and orders are 21+ with ID verification.
Ember Trees sells hemp-derived THCA flower under the 2018 Farm Bill, with delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% on a dry-weight basis as confirmed by third-party testing of each batch; THCA converts to THC when heated. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. For adults 21 and over.
