Too Cool Strain Guide: THCA %, Terpenes, Effects and How It Compares
Too Cool is an indica THCA flower that tested at 31.06% THCA and 0.168% delta-9 THC, with limonene and β-myrcene nearly level at the top of its terpene panel. Expect citrus brightness over earthy sweetness with a subtle pine edge, and a grounded body feel built for slowing down without checking out.

This guide covers what the Cannabis Chem Lab certificate reports, what we know about Too Cool’s genetics, how the measured terpenes map onto the flavor, what customers commonly report, and how Too Cool compares with the other indicas we carry. If it is between batches when you read this, the comparison section points you at the closest alternative in stock.

Lineage and genetics
The grower does not publish parentage for Too Cool, so we do not either. The product copy describes it as a flower that “combines citrus brightness with earthy sweetness and a subtle pine edge,” and calls it “a grounded indica built for slowing down without checking out.” Strain names move between growers and crosses, so we describe the batch in the jar rather than borrow a family tree.
The certificate is the better guide to character. The cannabinoid side is straightforward, with THCA at 31.06% and delta-9 THC at 0.168%, under the 0.3% hemp threshold. The terpene side is what makes Too Cool interesting: limonene and β-myrcene are almost tied at 0.65% and 0.62%, which is rare. Most indicas are myrcene-dominant and most citrus-forward flower is limonene-dominant; Too Cool splits the difference, with the earthy, grounding terpene and the bright citrus terpene pulling in equal measure. That balance is a good predictor of the “relaxed but still present” feel the copy describes, and a reason to read it as a middle-weight indica rather than a heavy one.
Terpene and flavor profile
| Terpene | % |
|---|---|
| Limonene | 0.65% |
| β-Myrcene | 0.62% |
| α-Pinene | 0.10% |
| α-Humulene | 0.09% |
| Linalool | 0.09% |
| β-Pinene | 0.08% |
| Listed terpenes | 1.63% |
Too Cool smells like a citrus grove on damp soil. The first note out of the jar is bright, sweet citrus, closer to orange than lemon, and right behind it an earthy sweetness that is almost caramel-like when the bud is broken open. The pine is subtle, a fresh green edge on the exhale rather than a sharp resinous one. There is no fuel and no skunk; it is a rounded, warm profile that stays pleasant through a whole session.
The measured panel reads like a description of that nose. Limonene at 0.65% is the citrus and β-myrcene at 0.62% is the earthy sweetness, and because they are nearly equal neither one takes over. α-Pinene at 0.10% and β-pinene at 0.08% are the pine edge. α-Humulene at 0.09% adds a dry, herbal counterpoint, and linalool at 0.09% softens the finish. The product record’s copy of the panel also lists small amounts of ocimene, menthol and endo-fenchyl alcohol, which may be where the cool, clean quality in the name comes from. If you want to see how a lab arrives at these figures, our guide to reading a hemp COA walks through a terpene panel line by line.
The dense, resin-rich buds grind into a sticky, fragrant pile and burn slowly and evenly. The citrus is strongest on the first few pulls; the earthy sweetness carries the rest.
What to expect from Too Cool and when to use it
At 31.06% THCA, Too Cool is a potent flower, and THCA converts to THC when heated, so the balanced profile does not mean a mild one. What customers commonly report is a calm, grounded body feel that arrives steadily over the first half hour, with a clear and relaxed headspace rather than a foggy one. People describe being able to finish a task, hold a conversation or cook dinner while noticeably more relaxed than before, which is exactly the “slowing down without checking out” idea in the copy and why we tag it unwind, balance and sleep.
The best time of day is the early evening, the stretch between finishing work and settling in for the night. Too Cool suits an unhurried dinner, a long walk or an evening with people when you want to be relaxed but still sharp enough to enjoy it. Later in the night it eases toward sleepy for many customers, so it also works as a gentler wind-down flower than our heaviest indicas. Start with a smaller amount than you would use of a milder flower, wait before adding more, and expect experiences to vary with the person and their tolerance. Dry mouth is the most commonly reported side note; keep water nearby and do not drive. For the full evening shelf, see our guide to the best THCA flower for sleep and relaxation.
How Too Cool compares with other Ember Trees strains
Too Cool is the grounded middle of our indica range. Here is how it lines up against the three strains customers most often cross-shop with it.
Too Cool vs. Limeade
Limeade is a 31.76% THCA indica with bright lime citrus, doughy sweetness and a vanilla finish, and its panel is led by limonene with very little myrcene. It is lighter and brighter than Too Cool, with a dessert character where Too Cool is earthier, and it carries even less weight in the body. Pick Limeade when you want citrus with almost no finish and Too Cool when you want citrus with some ground under it. The Limeade strain guide has the full breakdown.
Too Cool vs. PB&J
PB&J is a 33.03% THCA indica with nutty, dessert-like sweetness, a citrus lift and a myrcene-led panel. It is sweeter and settles deeper into the body than Too Cool, with a warm, content mood that drifts toward sleepy sooner. If Too Cool is the indica for getting things done slowly, PB&J is the one for not getting them done at all. See the PB&J strain guide.
Too Cool vs. YODA
YODA is our strongest flower at 36.68% THCA, an indica with a savoury OG profile of earthy wood, pungent citrus and pine and a heavy, sleepy finish. The two share an earth-and-pine backbone, but YODA is far heavier and is a bedtime flower where Too Cool is an evening one. Read the YODA strain guide for the details.

Each batch gets its own certificate, so the numbers above describe the batch tested on the date shown.
Too Cool FAQ
Is Too Cool an indica or a sativa?
Too Cool is an indica, and a balanced one: its panel has limonene and β-myrcene nearly level, and customers commonly report a grounded body feel with a clear, relaxed headspace rather than a heavy, sleepy finish.
How strong is Too Cool THCA flower?
The current batch tested at 31.06% THCA and 0.168% delta-9 THC at Cannabis Chem Lab, so it is a potent flower that is still hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill.
What does Too Cool taste like?
Sweet, orange-leaning citrus over an earthy, caramel-like sweetness, with a subtle fresh-pine edge on the exhale. Limonene at 0.65% and β-myrcene at 0.62% are the two terpenes behind that balance.
Does the Too Cool COA include a terpene panel?
Yes. The Cannabis Chem Lab certificate for batch ET-FLW-TOO-20260831-01 reports six terpenes led by limonene and β-myrcene. You can read it at /coas/ET-FLW-TOO-20260831-01.
When is the best time to use Too Cool?
Early evening. It is the indica customers reach for when they want to slow down but stay functional, and later in the night it eases toward sleepy for many people, so it also works as a gentle wind-down flower.
Can Too Cool be shipped to my state?
Too Cool is hemp-derived THCA flower with delta-9 THC under 0.3% by dry weight, and Ember Trees ships it to 45 states by UPS. We cannot ship to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and orders are 21+ with a valid ID.
Ember Trees sells hemp-derived THCA flower under the 2018 Farm Bill, with delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% on a dry-weight basis as confirmed by third-party testing of each batch; THCA converts to THC when heated. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. For adults 21 and over.
