YODA Strain Guide: THCA %, Terpenes, Effects and How It Compares
YODA is an indica THCA flower that tested at 36.68% THCA with no delta-9 THC detected, the highest THCA reading on the Ember Trees menu. Expect an old-school OG profile of earthy wood, pungent citrus and pine, and a heavy, sleepy finish built for the last hours of the day.

This guide walks through what the SC Laboratories certificate says, what “classic OG character” means in the jar, what people commonly report from an indica at this potency, and how YODA compares with the other heavy evening strains we carry. If YODA is between batches when you read this, the comparison section points you at the closest thing in stock.

Lineage and genetics
The grower publishes no parentage for YODA, so we do not either. The product copy describes it as “classic OG character,” and the certificate of analysis labels the tested sample “Yoda OG,” which is as far as the paper trail goes. OG-family flower generally shares a recognisable signature: an earthy, woody base, a sharp citrus-and-fuel top note, and a body-forward feel that leans toward the evening. YODA fits that description closely, which is why we list it as an indica rather than a hybrid.
What we can speak to with confidence is the batch itself. Beyond the THCA number, the certificate shows measurable CBGA and CBCA, the acidic forms of two minor cannabinoids, alongside THCA, with CBD and delta-8 THC not detected. That is a fairly typical profile for a THCA-dominant OG cut: nearly all of the cannabinoid content is THCA, with a small supporting cast rather than a broad spectrum. Take the OG label as a description of character, not a family tree.
Terpene and flavor profile
No terpene panel is printed on this batch’s certificate of analysis, so the flavor notes below come from the product description rather than a measured reading.
Opening a jar of YODA is a reminder of what OG flower smelled like before dessert strains took over. The first impression is earthy wood, damp and slightly sweet, like a cedar box. Under that sits a pungent citrus that reads as sour lemon rind more than orange, and a pine edge that sharpens the whole profile. Nothing about it is candy-like; it is a savoury, old-school nose that fills a room quickly.
This batch’s certificate covers cannabinoids and moisture only, so we cannot tell you which terpenes carry those notes in what proportion. Earthy-wood-and-citrus OG profiles are commonly associated with myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene, but that is a general pattern, not a measurement for this flower, and we would rather say so than guess. Our terpene guide explains what each of those compounds smells like if you want to compare notes with your own nose.
On the palate YODA is smooth for its strength, with the pine showing up most on the exhale. Grinding brings out the citrus; breaking buds by hand keeps the woody base in front.
What to expect from YODA and when to use it
At 36.68% THCA, YODA is the strongest flower we sell, and THCA converts to THC when heated, so it should be approached as a heavy indica rather than a casual smoke. Customers tell us the body feel arrives within minutes and keeps building: a warm, relaxed weight that makes the couch very appealing, paired with a mellow, unhurried headspace. The finish is commonly described as sleepy, which is why we tag it unwind and sleep and nothing else.
The best time of day is the end of it. YODA is an after-dinner, nothing-left-on-the-list flower; most people who use it earlier report that it slows the afternoon down more than they intended. Start with a smaller amount than you would use of a milder flower, a single small bowl is plenty to judge how it lands, and wait a while before adding to it. Experiences vary with tolerance and with the person. Dry mouth and heavy eyelids are the most commonly reported side notes, so keep water nearby and do not plan on driving. How YODA compares with other Ember Trees strains
YODA is the heaviest end of our indica shelf. Here is how it lines up against the three strains customers most often weigh it against.
YODA vs. SkyWalker
SkyWalker is an indica-leaning hybrid at 30.19% THCA with earthy pine, herbal spice and a pungent diesel edge, so the two share an OG-style backbone. SkyWalker keeps more of a euphoric headspace going while the body settles, where YODA is heavier and sleepier. Pick SkyWalker for a quiet evening with a film, YODA for the hour before bed. The SkyWalker strain guide has the full breakdown.
YODA vs. PB&J
PB&J is a 33.03% THCA indica with nutty, dessert-like sweetness, a bright citrus lift and soft floral undertones, and its certificate includes a myrcene-led terpene panel. It is the sweeter, softer choice: relaxing in the body but with a warm, content mood rather than a sleepy one. If YODA’s savoury OG nose is not your thing, start with the PB&J strain guide.
YODA vs. Too Cool
Too Cool is a 31.06% THCA indica with citrus brightness, earthy sweetness and a subtle pine edge, and a limonene-and-myrcene panel on its certificate. The copy describes it as built for “slowing down without checking out,” which is the clearest contrast with YODA: both are grounded indicas, but Too Cool leaves you functional and YODA does not aim to. Read the Too Cool strain guide for the details.

Availability
Small-batch flower rotates: YODA can sell through and may return when a new batch passes testing, so its product page may show it as sold out between drops. The current lineup is always on the THCA flower menu, and this guide stays up so you can compare YODA with what is in stock. Each batch gets its own certificate, so the numbers above describe the batch tested on the date shown.
YODA FAQ
Is YODA an indica or a sativa?
YODA is an indica. The grower describes it as classic OG character, and the batch we carry behaves like a heavy evening indica: a warm, relaxed body and a sleepy finish rather than an energetic lift.
How strong is YODA THCA flower?
The current batch tested at 36.68% THCA (total potential THC 32.17%) at SC Laboratories, the highest THCA reading on our menu. Delta-9 THC was not detected, so it is hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill.
What does YODA taste like?
Earthy wood first, then a pungent, sour-lemon citrus, with pine sharpening the exhale. It is a savoury, old-school OG profile rather than a sweet or fruity one.
Does the YODA COA include a terpene panel?
No. The SC Laboratories certificate for batch ET-FLW-YOD-20261021-01 reports cannabinoids and moisture only, so the flavor notes in this guide are descriptive. You can read it at /coas/ET-FLW-YOD-20261021-01.
When is the best time to use YODA?
Late evening. Customers most often reach for it after dinner or in the hour before bed, because the body feel is heavy and the finish is commonly described as sleepy. It is not a daytime flower.
Can YODA be shipped to my state?
YODA is hemp-derived THCA flower with delta-9 THC under 0.3% by dry weight, and Ember Trees ships it to 45 states by UPS. We cannot ship to Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and orders are 21+ with a valid ID.
Ember Trees sells hemp-derived THCA flower under the 2018 Farm Bill, with delta-9 THC at or below 0.3% on a dry-weight basis as confirmed by third-party testing of each batch; THCA converts to THC when heated. The effects described in this guide are commonly reported by adult consumers, vary from person to person and are not medical claims. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. For adults 21 and over. Keep out of reach of children, and do not drive after use.
